LINZ: AKUSTIKON - WORLD OF HEARING Until 31.12.2009: Sound exhibition - An acoustic adventure.

Akustikon - world of hearing is a part of the Audible City initiative in Linz. Akustikon is not your regular kind of museum, but a venue for true acoustic adventures for adults and children alike. Akustikon is all about hearing. The audio experiences are provided by two polyphons that hold, similar to an old apothecary cupboard, a few hundred sounds, one in each drawer. And by ear trumpets on the main square of Linz and the Pfarrplatz. They capture the sound of these public places and transport them back to audio stations in the Akustikon called auditons. Come and hear for yourself!
