Linz is the Cultural Capital of Europe 2009. And there are some damn good reasons for it!

The changes this city has undergone are unmatched by most other cultural destinations in Austria. Most people used to see it as a drab, grey industrial place, only associated with the voestalpine works. But the ugly duckling evolved into a beautiful swan. Today this place is happening! It is urban, modern, young, and colourful.  Take your pick of the plethora of cultural events, check out the exiting new Ars Electronica Centre ... or simply wander around and have some coffee by the Danube.
