The exhibition, a joint project of the Kaiserschild Foundation, the Alte Galerie, the Kunsthistorisches Museum and the Kunstmuseum Winterthur, presents three still lifes by Pieter Claesz in a fascinating dialogue with high-resolution photos of the paintings and a film production. These high-resolution images allow visitors to explore details of the works digitally alongside the originals, zoom in deeply on the paintings and thus experience their structure, colour and brushwork in a way that would otherwise not be possible, as well as learn more about the artist and the work. In addition, the paintings have been staged cinematically for Kaiserschild Art Defined. Projections of these films in the exhibition open up new perspectives on the works.
