In this exhibition at the Ober\u00f6sterreichischer Kunstverein, Michaela Schwarz-Weismann approaches new facets of the theme of standstill. In her oil paintings she links the archaic Sleeping Beauty motif with the question of beauty, also with the restless, greedy, uncompromising striving for it. “I want to let the finale stand still, as a beautiful idea, as a fairy tale. But who still believes in fairy tales? And certainly no saviour will come,” says the artist.<\/p>\n

Michaela Schwarz-Weismann studied architecture and product design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and the Royal Art College in London. She lives and works in Vienna.<\/p>\n
