What are you afraid of? The risky desire for security is the subtitle and already describes quite clearly what this exhibition is about. The virus confronts us with our own subjective perception of fear, insecurity and the striving for security. Where do we feel safe? In our own skin? With suitable clothing? Within our own four walls? Fear and insecurity are part of life. And people have developed the most diverse strategies to counter it. The exhibition is a kaleidoscope of many stories about the desire, the need and the effort to minimize insecurity. The stories tell of the illusion and unattainability of complete security. And the price of security: the loss of freedom, is also addressed. Finally, hope remains – as a positive response to fear.
