When man writes history with the power of his actions – what remains?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In no other era have such radical changes, the extinction of life and the destruction of the environment occurred in such a short time as at present! In the exhibition Anthropocene at the kunstgarten, Graz, a selection of artists explore the question “What remains?”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Humans have learned to express themselves with different techniques and technologies. What will remain? With what footprint will we humans of the present leave the earth? To the same extent that we have it in our hands to make this place a better place to live in for posterity, we have it in our hands to erase ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To show, to make visible and to express ourselves with artistic means is the most elegant way of reflecting the present. And it is to be hoped that Erich Fried’s words do not come true: “Whoever hears people talk knows that only the stones will remain.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
