From moderate to radical modernity \/ Vienna"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>16.09. 2022 \u2013 06.02. 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the beginning of the 20th century in Vienna, the Hagenbund was considered one of the most radical artists\u2019 associations of its time and was a driving force of modernism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The works of artists such as Otto Rudolf Schatz and Maximilian Reinitz were influenced by New Objectivity and, to some extent, by Cubism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With interdisciplinary projects such as theater performances, readings or dance performances, for example with Grete Westenthal, the association also managed to survive economically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After presentations at the Kunstschau Wien in 1908 and 1909, the Hagenbund achieved significant status as a platform for young, contemporary art in the 1910s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Legendary is the special exhibition \u201cMalerei und Platik\u201d in 1911 with works by Oskar Kokoschka, Anton Faistauer, Anton Kolig or Albert Paris G\u00fctersloh, as well as those with the aforementioned protagonists from the environment of the new art group and numerous works by Egon Schiele.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 1920s in particular are considered to be the heyday of the Hagenbund, when the step from moderate to radical modernism was ultimately taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hagenbund.
