19.01. – 02.02.2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No more conventional Kafka reception! One usually associates dark themes, existentialist and dystopian, dark and difficult with Franz Kafka’s novels and short stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Max Merker and Aaron Hitz go a different way. With their unique physical-poetic narrative style, they use comedy, slapstick and the grotesque to approach the author. They use Kafka’s letters, stories, parts of novels and diary entries and trace the comedic, absurd and adventurous elements in Kafka’s work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stage is full of Kafka’s life and full of characters from his novels and stories, it is a bourgeois version of the underground, hopeless space from “The Construction” (wasn’t there a mole sneaking across the stage?) and actually the whole play nothing but a single “transformation”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kafka’s world behind literature is full of irony and comedy, in other words: full of colour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
