The exhibition in the FOTOHOF archive shows “Stammersdorf Fries” as part of an action that Cibulka first performed in 1972 in the Forum Stadtpark in Graz. The multimedia staging of the time offered traditional food and drink, music, transcripts of Heurigen talks and a frieze of large-format black-and-white photographs that had been taken in Stammersdorf near Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, Heinz Cibulka made new authorized copies of the original negatives in cooperation with the FOTOHOF archiv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Stammersdorf Fries” is the only black and white work by Heinz Cibulka and was photographed immediately after he worked as an actor in Viennese Actionism. In this series he has already dealt with those themes that he later takes up again and again in his picture poems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
