Numerous storytellers will enchant a colorful audience again this year. Selected regions of Styria (Graz, Vorau, Bad Radkersburg and Bruck an der Mur) become “Magical Experiences”. Around 50 artists from 10 nations and a unique program, the heart of which is the diversity of storytelling, inspire with classic storytelling, music, pantomime, juggling, puppet theater, acrobatics and much more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is a generation change at the top of the festival: Tessa Erker-Tegetthoff officially took over the festival from her father Folke Tegetthoff in September 2022 and is bringing it into the present under this year’s motto “#femalestories”. Stories that give socio-political impulses, make you think and invite you to dream – told by over 30 artists! Female voices have always had a lot to say and yet they have often been overheard in the past. The 36th Austrian International Storytelling Festival therefore pricks its ears in the direction of #femalestories and puts national and international storytellers in the limelight. From a total of 50 artists, 30 convince with concentrated woman power.
The festival is aimed at a wide audience of all ages. Extraordinary locations are used: the Graz Museum, the newly created oasis of well-being at Lake Thaler, the M\u00fchlbacherh\u00fctte, but also the city center of Bruck an der Mur, the Vorau Abbey, the Parktherme Bad Radkersburg and many more. This year as the main festival stage in Graz: The Schauspielhaus! With the matinees and the festival classic \u201cThe Long Night of Fantastic Stories\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
