Hong Kong-born artist Wong Ping causes a sensation with his trenchant short films, in which he weaves together personal and fictional stories and takes sexual desire and repressed fantasies out of the taboo zone or uses them as metaphors for major social problems.
Many of his stories reflect the atmosphere of our globalised and digitalised society in the 21st century. “Sex is just the language, not the message,” says Wong Ping about his works, which find a light-hearted, humorous and accessible approach even to uncomfortable and shameful truths.
In a setting created especially for the new exhibition space MAK Contemporary, the MAK is showing four of his most recent animated films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
