Many employees continue to fight for fair conditions despite apparent freedoms.Invisible labour such as unpaid domestic and care work, often performed by women, is also currently a social problem and highlights the need to address inequalities and exploitation. Today, the fight for higher wages is juxtaposed with concepts such as New Work, 4-day week and work-life balance. Are these empty words or realistic demands in a time of extreme pressure?The exhibition curated by Katie Huemer also examines the often precarious aspects of artistic and cultural work and raises questions about the blurring of the boundaries between self-exploitation and self-realisation.
