His home is nature: rivers and rocks, roots and trees, corn almonds and sandpits. Viewed up close, his sculptural paintings, often weighing up to 60 kg, are reminiscent of abstract, random compositions and, by virtue of their urgent presence, cast a spell over us with their lively brushstrokes, whose rhythmic movement seems to determine everything.<br>In his fire paintings as well as in his dance sheets, the artist plays with dynamics, ecstasy and a frenzy of movement. His impasto painting, a form of abstraction that is unique to him, derives its power from his immediate view of nature. His idea of the weight of painting and balanced colourfulness made his works unmistakable even during his lifetime. Nevertheless, Grabmayr still needs to be discovered.
