The artist also radically destroys works that are significant to him in order to rearrange their fragments, enriched with personal set pieces and compressed work content. At the same time, Fabian Seiz extends his practices beyond the traditional media of painting, drawing and collage. For example, he transforms disused wooden furniture and chipboard into asymmetrical, whimsical compositions characterised by their demonstrative uselessness. Overall, Fabian Seiz&#8217;s work reveals a complex examination of the themes of transience, memory and transformation.
