In their pure, wild form and yet recognisable as devils, Sarah Ortmeyer’s sculptures DIABOLUS (PROTECTOR) occupy the Carlone Hall and the Belvedere. In the midst of the epoch-spanning collection, these ethereal protective devils become timeless and world-spanning shadows in resistance to the generic. DIABOLUS (PROTECTOR) is part of Ortmeyer’s EMOJI SHADOW Series, STATUA Collectio, SILVER Collectio and DIABOLUS Collectio. The CARLONE CONTEMPORARY series presents contemporary works in the Carlone Hall of the Upper Belvedere. With their positions on the Baroque pictorial programme of the frescoes, artists build a bridge from the ancient world of Apollo and Diana to the present day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
