Property is sacred, but property is also controversial. The exhibition developed on the occasion of the referendum \u2018Deutsche Wohnen & Co. expropriate\u2019 in Berlin therefore embarks on a historical search for clues: When were demands for expropriation made? How were they realised? Who was expropriated, who wanted to expropriate, and who protested against or in favour of it? The concept of expropriation is analysed in a historically ambivalent way – both as an emancipatory demand for justice by social movements of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries and as an authoritarian tool of dictatorial systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
