The Viennese Anna-Sophie BERGER and the American artist Teak RAMOS were invited by the International Library of Fashion Research to create an exhibition in their rooms, which are part of the National Gallery in Oslo. Based on the ongoing exchange about fashion in general and technical clothing production, both the archive and the work become a form of research. The exhibition presents a series of looks consisting of garments made of different fabrics, including black and white A4 printouts from the archive. Some garments focus on individual historical or theoretical case studies, others examine the socio-cultural impact of body adornment and its conceptualisation and interpretation over time. The garments themselves are orientated in their composition to the canonical repertoire of Western fashion, and reflect an attempt to distort specific period definitions.
