Austrian visual artist Judith Lava is exhibiting in Slovakia for the first time and invites visitors to get to know her art figure ‘Lili’. Lili stands for female empowerment, the reclaiming of one’s own body and the embodiment of all-too-human emotions. For Judith Lava, it is a necessity to make feminist art until patriarchy no longer exists in our lives and can only be found as a word in old history books. Art is vital, as is humour. The two combined make Lili. Judith Lava was included in the programme “Calliope. Join the Dots.‘ programme, because with ’Lili” she has created a socio-critical project that sometimes takes a very hard look at misogynistic realities.
