There are few architects whose work is so inextricably linked to the city in which they worked. Hermann Czech’s architectural and theoretical work has a complex relationship with Vienna’s urban culture: with the physical city, the Baroque and the modern city, as well as with the revolutionary ideas of the architects who shaped the character of the city. The exhibition “Hermann Czech. Starting from the Existent” brings together projects from his entire professional career, with the aim of presenting a unique professional and intellectual development to the Italian public – with possible parallels to similar experiences in Milan.
