The exhibition examines the hidden traces of artificial intelligence in an increasingly automated world. The focus is on forms of digital control that are inscribed in bodies, emotions and social processes – sometimes visible, but often barely perceptible. On display are ceramic objects, embroidered data visualisations and media artefacts that critically reflect on the effects of AI in sensitive areas such as autonomous weapons systems, neurotechnologies and the simulation of intimacy.
The works combine speculative design with concrete data in order to make the complex interfaces between man and machine tangible. A video forms the centrepiece of the exhibition. It accompanies the product with a virtual tour and makes central concepts and connections visible – as a visual figure of thought within the overall artificial composition.
TRACES OF CONTROL invites the public to scrutinise the silent architectures of digital power and to approach the emotional, ethical and material dimensions of artificial intelligence.
