DREAMWEAVER II deals with the crisis of our time and the injuries that the living experience as a reflection of our actions. It is about the balance that no longer exists. DREAMWEAVER II builds on an installation that Laurent Ziegler was allowed to erect in Ladakh, Kashmir, in 2024 as part of the sā Ladakh Land Art Biennale. This work, an arrangement of circular, closing patterns, explored the idea of nature as a breathing, ever-changing presence whose individual elements are interconnected at all levels. It is a story about memory, the land and the close relationship of local communities to it. The title alludes to Dreamtime, an Indigenous Australian belief about the creation of the world and the origin of life. Dreamtime also tells of memory-related imprints that are created and sung about over generations in vast landscapes. Irish composer Brian Crosby has composed a tapestry of sound for DREAMWEAVER II that recreates prenatal worlds of experience. These are worlds that are, albeit unconsciously, deeply anchored in the human consciousness.
