25.07.2025 – 19.09.2025

The summer exhibition continues the dialogue between Käthe Schönle’s powerful yet poetic works. It will also feature paintings by Moni K. Huber, whose motifs are reminiscent of her first travels in the 1970s and the positive attitude to life associated with them. Moni K. Huber builds on the painterly exploration of her previous painting cycles with the architecture of post-war modernism and deals with smaller, architectural structures and forms such as kiosks, awnings, parasols, caravans, tents as well as fabrics and patterns. They are memories of the first conscious journeys of the 1970s, of carefree travel and the associated positive attitude to life – the utopia of freedom, travelling and the feeling that the world is open to us.
In her paintings, drawings, collages and objects, Käthe Schönle explores the tension and ambivalence of human interaction. She scrutinises individual and social decision-making and action systems and examines their connection with internal, external, artificial and natural structures. The current works are an outlook on a future beyond dystopia and destruction and provide a new or expanded view that should lead to a changed perspective on the world.
