The 5th edition of the Autostrada Biennale, ‘Unfolding Currents: The Pulse of Time’, is dedicated to the rich history of Prizren. It will showcase works of art that are closely linked to the city’s historical sites. From the ancient clock tower and hammams to the sprawling Autostrada Hangar – Centre for Contemporary Art, the exhibition builds a bridge between Prizren’s multi-layered past and its changing present. The public is thus taken on a journey through spaces where history, art and place meet.
Artists with an Austrian connection are particularly well represented at this year’s Autostrada Biennale, thanks to the support of the embassy. The Austrian architect Walter Kräutler was involved in the preparatory work for the Biennale, and works by Lois Weinberger, Edin Zenun, Robert Gabris and Stephanie Rizaj, among others, will be on display.
