The Viennese artists Nadine Lemke and Janine Maria Schneider are presenting a joint exhibition at the ID:I Gallery in Stockholm with the support of the Austrian Embassy in Stockholm, which deals with space, memory, design and social structures. Nadine Lemke combines crocheted textiles and photo collages to create poetic installations. She was inspired by the functionalist design of the Austrian designer Josef Frank for the Swedish company Svenskt Tenn.
Janine Maria Schneider uses the zip as a symbol of separation and connection to address the exploitation of women in the fashion industry. A performance in the former women’s prison Långholmens Spinnhus sets an example for visibility and social role models.
