During the summer months, the Museum der Moderne Salzburg is supplementing the exhibition Nika Neelova. Cascade at the Mönchsberg with a dazzling pop-up intervention – the Swiss artist Sylvie Fleury opens up new, unexpected perspectives on the existing show with her eleven works. The encounter with the existing exhibition creates a new field of tension: Fleury’s artworks enter into a subtle dialogue with the surrounding works – it is about time and the coming and going of aesthetic phenomena. Across three rooms, Nika Neelova creates her own world in which past, present and future merge poetically. Using found objects and everyday materials such as weathered wood, glass and stone fragments, she creates sculptures and installations that seem like remnants of a distant time or a speculative future. Her works tell of people and places that are long gone – or perhaps never existed – and invite us to rethink the idea of time.
