The Take the A-Train Festival returns to Salzburg’s railway station district in 2025. In many different and sometimes new locations, the festival aims to live up to its reputation as a festival of discovery without genre restrictions once again this year, focusing on an exciting mix of internationally and nationally established artists as well as up-and-coming young formations. To kick off the festival, the Munich supergroup ALIEN ENSEMBLE led by Micha Acher from the band The Notwist will perform the first gig of the festival in the so-called Prologue at HAUS ELISABETH of Caritas. Space has also been found for a discursive format this year, as a mixture of talk and listening session will focus on the role of women in jazz. The renowned author, pop writer and musician THOMAS MEINECKE will present selected jazz records by female artists who are of particular importance to him.
