A few years ago, the artists involved in the Lendwirbel neighbourhood festival realised that the district of Gries also has a lot to offer and should and can show this. Initial discussions soon turned into a concrete plan: a neighbourhood festival in the district of Gries. A name was quickly found that perfectly captures the diversity and charm of this Graz district, which is sometimes somewhat underrated: Grieskram. The aim is not only to cooperate with local businesses and artists, but also to give residents the opportunity to participate in the planning and design of this neighbourhood festival from the outset. Grieskram – a neighbourhood festival accessible to everyone: from kebab stands to art associations. Together, people can dance, sing, discuss, listen, eat, laugh and celebrate. Contact is established with local restaurants and residents through neighbourhood meetings and regular public networking events.
