In 2025, the A!KO TANZ FEST will take place for the first time in cooperation with Ars Electronica Festival – under the banner of ‘PANIC’. From workshops to the Ars Electronica Festival – Linz will become a laboratory for dance, theatre and socio-political topics for a fortnight. The A!KO TANZ FEST will once again offer the whole city extraordinary performance formats interwoven with current social issues. For the first time, the two festival weeks will end with performances at several locations in Linz as part of the Ars Electronica Festival. The focus will be on topics such as digital identity, surveillance and civil courage – the latter inviting the audience to try out various forms of protest themselves. Festival director LiLi Jung In Lee sees this as a milestone: “Since it was founded in 2017, the A!KO TANZ FEST has stood for international exchange and a place to try things out. With the cooperation with the Ars Electronica Festival, we are opening up this free space to an even larger and more diverse audience.”
