In his exhibition, Guido Schmalix, a sculptor living in Mürzzuschlag, presents works created in recent years that deal with the measurement of time in various ways. Schmalix has been involved in the visual arts for many years. His main focus is on sculpture. Impressions from various travels, as well as his historical interest and knowledge, form the starting point for his artistic exploration. Guido Schmalix works with a variety of techniques. He exhibits figures made of wood and ceramics, stone and bronze. Depending on the subject and approach, the works are either representational and opulent or more minimalist and closer to abstraction. However, the artist never becomes completely abstract: the connection to nature or the subject is always palpable in the background.
