On adventurous expeditions to abandoned industrial ruins scattered across Europe, Jeremias Altmann collects atmospheric impressions, which then form the starting point for his paintings and graphic art. However, when the hungry demolition vehicles roll in, the artist takes small and sometimes larger finds with him to bring them to safety. In the sculpture Connector l, a textile matrix punch from the Waldviertel region, a voltage regulator from a Czech copper mine, components from a Belgian steelworks, an Italian film projector and a spool wheel from France are combined to form a new, but equally decommissioned, apparatus. A rusty poem in many languages. A swan song to the mechanical age.
