He is considered one of the most important figures in the European environmental and peace movement (he was active as a peace and environmental activist from the late 1970s onwards): Alexander Langer. The subtitle of the exhibition alludes to the similarity of his name to that of the American philosopher Susanne Langer. Langer recognised the invisibility in contemporary art, a certain vagueness. Nature, too, often becomes invisible, usually represented only metaphorically or symbolically. The exhibition, curated by Riccardo Lisi and Lukas Willmann, sees itself as an examination of environmental issues from the perspective of artists from the Alpine region, particularly Austria and Switzerland.
