The festival is dedicated to current topics such as artificial intelligence in art production. This year’s edition of the festival will also be its last. For one final time, visitors can expect a rich mix of performances, workshops, dance films and discussions with national and international artists. The festival will open with the immersive dance performance ‘Der Atem 17/19’ (The Breath 17/19) by South Korean dancer Lee Jung In CREATION. The performances ‘SUPERBODIES’ by dance beyond and ‘Nice to meet you!’ by Valerio Iurato address the issues of body diversity and humanity. The audience can also actively participate: On 15 and 16 October, dance workshops with Han Sang Ruly (Tanztheater Ones) and Park Chul Soon (Gals Jung Myung Hun Dance Company) from South Korea will take place in the mornings. On 15 and 18 October, there will be a public talk in which culture and the public will come together to discuss the future of dance. With the deliberately provocative question ‘Does Linz need a dance festival?’, artists, cultural leaders and the audience are invited to reflect together on the future of dance in Upper Austria in two rounds of discussions. The focus is on the question of how contemporary dance in Linz can be made more visible, strengthened and sustainably promoted in the future.
