The annual German-language film festival KINO takes place in Hong Kong in October. KINO is organised by the Goethe-Institut Hong Kong in collaboration with cinemas in Hong Kong and supported by the EU MS. The Austrian Consulate General is participating this year with two screenings of the Austrian film ‘Gina’ by Ulrike Kofler. A female three-generation portrait from the perspective of a child who refuses to accept that fate depends solely on where you are born. Gina fights against hopelessness, neglect, the youth welfare office and for herself.
