Following the success of her concerts in Brașov and Sfântu Gheorghe, Iranian-Austrian composer and performer Avin Ahmadi returns to Bucharest and Iași to once again present Persian musical tradition and Western jazz improvisation in dialogue. This time, the ‘Qayeq’ concerts (Gha’yegh – a name inspired by the Persian word for ‘boat’) are an exciting sonic and visual adventure, enhanced by the architecture of the venues in both cities, video mapping and lighting design. Avin Ahmadi is part of the latest selection of the NASOM – New Austrian Sound of Music – programme of the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, which offers young musicians from Austria support for international concert performances.
