Veronika Eberhart pursues an interdisciplinary approach in her artistic work, combining video, sound, performance and sculpture. In her new exhibition Alles pelt zich (“Everything is falling apart”) at the Kiosk Gallery in Ghent, she explores the complex relationship between materials such as solid wood, veneer and the machines and tools used in woodworking. Detached from their original function, the exhibited pieces transform from everyday objects into autonomous entities that hover between object and sacred presence. The works resist fixed interpretations, evoking a paradoxical closeness to the space in which intimacy and distance become blurred.
