The Albertina’s collection of drawings, prints and artistic works on paper is one of the largest in the world. Drawing on this rich resource, this extraordinary exhibition is dedicated to the diversity and fascination of paper in all its facets. Spanning several centuries from the 15th century to the present day, the exhibition brings together works from the graphic arts collection, the architecture collection and the contemporary art collection: copperplate engravings for playing cards, monumental multi-part and three-dimensional objects, and rarely seen works illustrate the breadth of this unique collection and art form. Surprising juxtapositions highlight the versatility of paper as a medium.
