In the exhibition GLOBAL WARMING: What can we do as individuals? students from the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the University of Seoul show how creative processes can inspire collective thinking and action in the climate crisis. Thirty-five posters, created in an intercultural project led by Kichang Jeff Kim (Seoul) and Sven Ingmar Thies (Vienna), are being presented simultaneously in Vienna and Seoul. The exhibition at the MAK Forum invites visitors to experience the resulting works in direct dialogue and gain inspiration for their own actions. In the course of the scientific-creative process, the students developed individual questions relating to climate change and translated these into three-dimensional models. These experimental objects provide space for creative exchange and enable new perspectives on the original ideas. The posters presented here are the result of this reflective design process. They show how students, in creative dialogue, not only negotiate solutions to global challenges, but also gain a mutual understanding of social and cultural similarities and differences.
