Photography works similarly to a mould. It reverses positives into negatives and enables reproduction and copying. Photography works in a similar way. Emma Hummerhielm Carlén’s work is situated between the perceptual realms of seeing (photography) and spatial experience (sculpture), bringing both back together in the exhibition space. In Ricochet, the spatial conditions of the OÖ Kunstverein appear as an active partner in the installation. On one side is the existing window wall, on the other a corresponding sequence of sculptures/photographs that reflect information back and forth.
