In her exhibition, Birgit Pleschberger displays drawings, collages, prints and several objects from recent years. Many of them were created last year, some this year. Visitors can expect to see a variety of small-format works from the ‘Waypoints’ series, two large-format works on paper and a few pieces from other series. As different as the works may seem at first glance, they are linked by a delicate exploration of various questions of human existence, subtle, clear and humorous. The medium of writing appears repeatedly in the works. Mostly not as a stand-alone medium, but integrated into a pictorial representation. Whether in collages or drawings from the ‘Waypoints’ series, the “Fishes” or the large-format works entitled ‘Dragon’s Blood’ – the writing, the text, underlines, emphasises or blurs.
