Die Linzer Konsumgenossenschaft eröffnet den ersten Supermarkt Österreichs in Linz, Wienerstraße, 1950, Archiv der Stadt Linz

27.03.2026 – 04.10.2026

Made in Linz is dedicated to selected regional products from trade, industry and craftsmanship. The exemplary selection covers a period of more than 175 years – from the Niemetz Schwedenbombe and Keli Limonade to internationally active companies such as Rosenbauer and Dynatrace. What they all have in common is their topographical and historical connection to the city of Linz. In compact stations, the exhibition tells the stories of influential companies and at the same time focuses on the people behind them: founders with a pioneering spirit, family businesses spanning generations, and companies that became important employers in the city. A colonial goods store from Urfahr dating from 1913, models of large factory complexes and current interviews illustrate the theme alongside a wealth of products. Curated by Andrea Bina and Michaela Nagl, the exhibition has a look at the city’s creative cosmos and presents a vivid picture of economic activity in Linz with the aim of raising awareness of the diversity of the local market.
