In 2026, Tricky Women Tricky Realities, the world’s only festival for animated art by women and/or genderqueer artists, will celebrate its 25th anniversary. In cooperation with the festival, Bildraum 07 presents works by Serbian-Croatian animation director, artist and researcher Lea Vidaković, who works at the intersection of installation, expanded media practices and traditional puppet animation. At the heart of Vidaković’s practice is a conscious decision in favour of perception: her worlds are architectures of miniatures that reveal the psychological inner lives of her protagonists. Accordingly, her films are always conceived as installations; the precise and skilfully executed materiality of her miniatures functions as her artistic signature.
