RELATIONS II Female_feminine sights examines the complex web of relationships – personal, cultural and historical – through the perspectives of six female artists, three from Iceland and three from Austria. The exhibition offers an artistic exploration of the female gaze and examines a feminist-influenced formal language employed by artists who differ radically in their expression, working methods and backgrounds. On display are installations from the fields of photography, painting, graphic design and object art. Curated by Tanja Prušnik, the exhibition highlights the artists’ brief artistic experiences in various locations and countries, each shaped by specific geographical, cultural and social conditions. The focus is on the desire for exchange, getting to know one another on an artistic and personal level, and the pursuit of feminist equality – here and there.
