Austrian fashion and textile designer Sabrina Stadlober is presenting her work as part of the ‘Complementarios’ exhibition at the Central de Diseño in Matadero Madrid. Sabrina Stadlober’s work is characterised by a conceptual, research-based approach that combines ethics and aesthetics. Her project ‘Soil to Soil’ presents an organic couture collection that embodies longevity, inspired by the quality of the fabrics: alpaca wool, silk, linen and ramie. The life cycle of the fabrics begins and ends in the earth; similarly, the design process begins with the origin of the fabrics and ends with their composting. Stadlober is exhibiting her work as part of the ‘Complementarios’ design exhibition, which focuses on the beauty of the creative process and highlights the contrast between craftsmanship and design, digital and analogue, hand and machine.
