As early as the first half of the 20th century, Salzburg’s landscape, music and traditional costume were being used for tourism marketing. Films such as *The Sound of Music* have shaped the region’s image worldwide. The exhibition “Edelweiss Forever” explores these themes from three perspectives: through the film “The Sound of Music”, through the von Trapp family, and through the development of Salzburg in the 1950s and 1960s. It complements the Sound of Music Salzburg attraction in Hellbrunn, which is set to open in 2026.
