With a presentation of works from the last five years, the exhibition pays tribute to the late work and the unbroken artistic output of the Austrian sculptor and installation artist Sepp Auer. Sepp Auer’s conceptual and minimalist works take their starting point in the image and unfold sculpturally in space to form multi-layered, precisely arranged installations. His works feature text and writing, supports or barriers. They challenge visual habits, break down patterns of perception and open up new perspectives on line, surface and space. The pictorial objects comment on the present and, with Sepp Auer’s characteristic subtle humour, fall outside the norm.
