Eva-Maria Raab’s solo exhibition “liquid body” at the Austrian Cultural Forum Zagreb explores the motif of flow as a metaphor for change, memory and transience. Inspired by the principle of panta rhei and the vibrant presence of the Danube, Raab uses photography, painting and drawing to explore the continuous flow of life and the physical experiences embedded within it. Eva-Maria Raab is an Austrian visual artist whose work engages with the ephemeral aspects of nature. Using camera-less photographic processes such as cyanotype, she captures fleeting phenomena such as light, shadow and movement. Since 2015, she has been creating so-called ‘live prints’ by exposing light-sensitive paper directly in natural environments – often incorporating elements such as river water, driftwood or her own body – to explore themes such as time, space and the transience of existence.
