Too big, bent, disintegrated: Zoe Vitzthum removes everyday objects from their familiar surroundings.
Using ceramics and installations, young Salzburg artist Zoe Vitzthum addresses the vulnerability of one’s own body. Elementary objects of our (eating) culture become objects that defend themselves against their users by depicting them too large, bent, stacked or decaying.
A large Chinese spoon made of cardboard and small cakes are not intended for eating. They take us in and show us we’re not home.
