The publication “Public Art – Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Steiermark” (Public Art – Art in Public Space Styria) has been released these days and brings a comprehensive overview of the projects of art in public space in Styria in the years 2018/19. This collection and documentation of extraordinary works shows how versatile art can be outside of museum spaces and how valuable the work of art in public space is.

United in this work, 35 works from performing arts, literature, music, architecture and other, interdisciplinary art forms, which are presented throughout Styria and also conquer the digital space. They deal with a wide variety of topics, whether regional challenges, reappraisal of history or questions of social coexistence. The spectrum ranges from (art) festivals lasting several days to sculptural installations and small educational events. In this way, questions are raised and space for encounter and communication is created. The extensively illustrated work summarizes important positions on more than 300 pages and unites them into an extremely coherent whole: that of art in public space as an important part of a multifaceted life in Styria.
