The Lentos in Linz is showing an exhibition entitled “Transformation & Return” that explores the theme of radical nationalisms as reflected in contemporary art. Parallel to the continuity of extreme right-wing political ideas, there exists an afterlife of the repeated representation of fascism in art. Furthermore, there is an appropriation of aesthetic set pieces in popular and transgressive subculture. The exhibition brings together international positions and an examination of the phenomenon.
