The Göll Massif and the Tennengebirge are part of his daily “view”: Peter Schwaighofer’s works are shown at the Eboran Gallery. The artist lives and works in Kuchl. The course of the seasons as well as the constantly changing light situations during a day are the basis of his image research which he has been pursuing for many years.
Schwaighofer actually comes from sculpture and so he does not design the picture structure painterly, but he “carves” his pictures.
He understands nature more as a hurdle and challenge for man and not so much as a place of relaxation.
With his series of mountain paintings Schwaighofer joins the ranks of many famous painters who, like him, are also captivated by the fascination of “mountains”. Schwaighofer’s paintings are based on photographs that he projects onto the wall. He transforms his image of the mountains in two ways and offers us, the viewer, our own possibilities of interpretation.
